Story of Survival
I was born in January 1969 and live with my two sons; Reaobaka and Rebaone and my husband, George. Our home is at Mmabatho. I work for the Mafikeng Local Municipality in the Finance Department. I’m also a lay minister at the All Saints Anglican Church.
In October 2008, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and quickly underwent a lumpectomy operation that same month, followed by chemotherapy beginning in November 2008 until March 2009. Next came six tough weeks of radiation therapy. But by May 2009 – a total of eight months since that initial diagnosis - my MRI came back clear. I was cancer free.
I am now rigorously following a yearly routine of check-ups to ensure that I remain healthy. My faith in God has kept me strong and has given me the courage I need to fight this disease. Thank you.
